The Avalon Children's Theatre program is a delightful and vibrant theatrical experience designed specifically for young audiences. Through the magic of live performances, our programming makes a lasting impact on these young people and fosters in them a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
The Theatre's programming often includes adaptations of beloved children's stories, fairy tales, and classic literature, bringing these well-known tales to life in a fresh and exciting way.

The Avalon Foundation aims to cultivate students' creativity, critical thinking, cultural awareness, and collaborative skills. By integrating the arts into the school curriculum, it creates a vibrant learning environment that nurtures artistic talent, encourages self-expression, and enriches students' overall educational experiences.
The Avalon provides artist residencies and workshops. Professional artists visit the classrooms, work closely with students, share their expertise, and inspire creativity. These interactions expose students to a variety of artistic perspectives.
Supporting Easton Elementary School’s annual Living History Museum is a beloved Avalon tradition. Each participating student researches and writes about an historical figure and creates supporting visual materials. Next, Avalon staff help the students to convincingly “become” these characters by providing public speaking coaching and costuming advice. All of these efforts culminate in impressive final presentations to family and friends.
Each year, the Avalon Foundation offers a wide selection of summer camp opportunities for school-aged children that include acting, dance, music, and painting. In a supportive and structured environment, campers develop skills, gain confidence, make connections, and explore their creativity. Our camping programs provide a transformative and rewarding experience for campers that leads to personal growth and, in some instances, toward a career in visual or performing art.
Camp scholarships are available. To apply, call 410.822.7299 or email us.
The Avalon's Young Audiences Program is designed for children in Talbot County schools, grades K-8. Working with schools throughout Talbot County, we bus students to the Avalon Theatre for specially curated, age-appropriate performances. This program supports the schools’ efforts to integrate performance art appreciation into their curricula. For the children of Talbot County, we aspire to spark their imaginations, nurture their creativity, expand their cultural horizons, and encourage a lifelong love for theatre.
