“Bill Ehrhart is the finest combat veteran poet to come out of the Vietnam War. But his poetry transcends his war experience and eloquently reveals the healing powers of family and love” - Joseph T. Cox, Colonel, US Army
Tickets: $25 (fees not included)
Immediately upon graduating from high school in 1966, William Ehrhart joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving three years, including 13 months in Vietnam. He subsequently earned bachelor's and master's degrees, and (at the age of 52) a doctorate.
Over the years, Ehrhart has held a wide variety of jobs, from merchant seaman to newspaper reporter to high school teacher. And through them all, he’s always retained the soul of a poet.
Join Ehrhart in the Stoltz for a unique evening of poetry and candid discussion with “one of the most important and enduring writers to have emerged from the American war in Vietnam.” (Adam Gilbert, Leverhulme Fellow, University of Sussex)
