The Avalon Foundation is taking a big chance this year. We hate junk mail. It is an enormous waste. For many years the Avalon Foundation contributed to the problem. Annually the Foundation needs contributions of over $500,000 to continue its work. Each December we have sent thousands of letters in order to reach that goal. The cost of sending these letters is substantial. By making our end of year appeal totally online this year every dollar given will go to providing opportunities that bring people joy, versus more paper that a lot people throw away.

Bryan Russo first and foremost is a musician. In addition, he is the voice of WAMU 88.3 Ocean City's Coastal Connections and entertains and educates us with thought provoking stories about both current topics and the history of the region. He was slated to co-bill Saturday's show with Naked Blue, but unfortunately had a change in plans and will not be here. Prior to this, we had asked Mr. Russo to write an article for our blog and we were so thrilled with his piece that we wanted to share it.
