MCTV is the Public Access Television station for Talbot County. Its management and programming is the work of the Avalon Foundation.
The Avalon Foundation is currently seeking a part time Television Station Manager.
Average 25 hours per week - starting $15 per hour
Candidates should have experience in video production and editing. Managerial experience preferred.
Ms. JoAnn Kulesza, the current Chair and Music Director of the Opera Department at the Peabody Conservatory, JHU, in Baltimore will be doing an opera pre talk before Otello on Saturday October 17th. If all goes well, she will return in the spring. These will be FREE, will take place in the Stoltz Listening Room, and will start an hour before doors.
A local family really loves the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. They laugh at thier British wit and have a deep respect for the musician's talent. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain was founded 30 years ago.
The World Artists Experience presentation, in partnership with the Embassy of China brings us “Colorful China”. Over 20 performers will hit the stage at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night including dancers, singers and instrumentalists from many of the fifty-six ethnic groups of China.
Whether it be “Peace Someday” or “A Little Note” Laura Baron’s soring vocals tells the story. Laura is a three time 2014 Wammie Award winner (Washington Area Music Awards) and considered one of the premiere singer-songwriter’s in the Washington DC area. She won a 2014 Wammie for Song of the year for her song “A Little Note”. Her award winning expressive jazz vocals seem to shine on through every note. When I listen to her music, I feel her ties to the contemporary folk movement in her writing. I look forward to her filling The Stoltz Listening room with her warmth and emotion!
As much as I enjoy playing the songs I grew up with at Mike and Eric's in St Michaels every week, it's been a long (scary long) time since I've played my own material and I'd really like to thank The Avalon for giving me this opportunity. I'm looking forward as well to playing a few tunes by some very talented compadres with whom I've shared a stage,a drink and some great times.
Who would have guessed? Is the fledging Monty Alexander Jazz Festival nudging its way to fame alongside the Chicago Jazz Festival and the Detroit Jazz Festival? All three will hold Labor Day festivals, Sept 3-6, 2015. The big city programs have matured over three decades and mightily benefited from professional marketing arms. In contrast, the Monty Alexander Jazz Festival has only been nurtured for six years in the small town of Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore by volunteer community leadership, donated funds, and the artistic direction of the legendary Monty Alexander.
Hello! My name is Tara Kitchelt! I am a senior at Easton High School and have lived in Easton all my live. I use to play some sports when I was younger but I transitioned into doing only acting, singing, and dance. Like every other actresses dream, my goal is to one day perform professionally and maybe even be on Broadway. I am currently an Intern at the Avalon Theatre!

EASTON — If you noticed the marquee at the Avalon Theatre recently, you saw “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” featured prominently. Do not think for a minute that this weekend there will be kids from the mythical Putnam County on the Avalon stage spelling out words until the last man is standing. Actually, that is what you will see, but in words, music and dance as the Avalon Foundation’s Underground Actors present the original Broadway musical by that name.
