Announcing the New Plein Air Easton Website

Plein Air Easton is excited to announce the new, reimagined festival website, pleinaireaston.com.  Packed with festival information, opportunities to engage, and virtual galleries showcasing incredible works of art created over the 20 years of Plein Air Easton, the new website has many features to explore.

To aid festival visitors in their online plein air journey, we have highlighted some of the newly organized offerings  Here are just a few of the features of the new Plein Air Easton website: 

FESTIVAL INFORMATION

The dynamic festival Calendar features all of the demonstrations, paint-outs, parties, and exhibitions available during the festival, as well as supplementary events and local gallery demonstrations throughout the year.  Convenient filter tools at the top of the event list helps quickly get you to the exact plein air events that you’re looking for.  You can also toggle over to a calendar view for a comprehensive overview of the festival offerings.  Clicking into any of our events gives you all of the details you’ll need to get the most out of your Plein Air Easton experience.

For our visitors with artistic children, the Children’s Programs section outlines all of our opportunities for our young artists to participate in Plein Air Easton.  From competitions and awards to our week-long companion summer camp, Plein Air Easton is a great week for kids looking for an outlet for their creativity.

PODCAST & MEDIA

The new Plein Air Easton website features over 100 hours of media content! For the eleven months out of the year when you can’t participate directly in our art festival, you can still steep yourself in demonstrations, time-lapse videos, and the philosophy of top-tier artists through our podcasts and videos.

Through interviews with artists, collectors, and gallery owners, the Plein Air Easton Podcast seeks to explore the world of plein air art and foster an art-loving community.  All 50 episodes are available to listen to on the Plein Air Easton website, or on your favorite podcast platform.

If you are looking to develop your own artistic skills, Plein Air Easton has partnered with festival alumni to create a series of Instructional Videos. Each video is between 70-140 minutes long and offers tips, techniques, and advice from professional artists to help guide you on your journey to improving your own art. Your purchase of any video unlocks unlimited views of the lesson so that you can review the material over and over again.

PAST FESTIVALS

Perhaps the most dynamic section of the new website is our archive of the artists, paintings, awards, and event videos of our past festivals.  The drop-down menu at the top of the page allows you to quickly visit any year in Plein Air Easton’s illustrious history.  Each year showcases the Judge and Juror of that year, the 58 juried artists that participated, a gallery of the award winning paintings (along with a gallery of the Small Painting Sunday award winners for 2016 - the present), a list of additional awards for our supplementary events, and videos of the award announcements and juror’s talk for the years they are available.

Each awards gallery offers a link into the full competition gallery for that year’s competition.  Clicking any of the artwork thumbnails brings up a larger resolution image of the painting so that you can admire the work in detail.

Clicking on any of the artist names brings you to their Artists Details page.  There you can discover the artist’s hometown, the years they participated in Plein Air Easton as a juried artist, their artist bio, their website and social media links, any of our videos or podcasts they participated in, along with a gallery of all of their competition paintings over their Plein Air Easton career.  Gold medallion icons indicate the artworks that were awarded prizes in the main competition and Small Painting Sunday.

If you’re looking for information on a particular artist, you can access our Artist Directory in the minutiae column in the footer.  From there, you can quickly find the exact artist you’d like to explore, and visit their Artist Details page.
