U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters
Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 7 p.m.
The Clean Water Concert Series continues with the musical variety of the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters, the Navy’s official chorus.
At ease performing for the public as well as for the president, vice president, and congressional, military, and foreign dignitaries, the Sea Chanters sing an array of styles ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music.
The Clean Water Concert Series, organized by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) in partnership with the Avalon Foundation, offers free live music and family friendly, educational activities hosted by local environmental and community groups.
“The concert series is a great way for families and friends to come out and learn about all the progress being made on the health of our rivers and streams,” said CBF Director Alan Girard. “It’s also a safe place for people of various cultures and backgrounds to be together and enjoy the ties that bind us – music, the environment, and the rich diversity of people who make our Eastern Shore community special.”
Pre-concert activities start at 6 p.m., followed by musical entertainment at 7 p.m.
