Summer Camp 2023 Programs
Guitar Camp presented by Mike Elzey’s Guitar Studio
June 19 - 23 (10:30 - 12:00)
Entering grades 2 – 6
Tuition: $100
Guitar instructor Emma Kate Bailey will lead our beginner guitar camp at the Avalon. Emma began lessons with Mike Elzey at age 8 and immediately started playing and singing live. Since that time she has performed over 30 solo gigs and has taught dozens of students to play guitar at Mike Elzey's Guitar Studio. Campers will learn the basics about guitar including how it is tuned, finger placement, picking techniques and how to read TAB. On the last day of camp, students will perform a song for parents on the big stage of the historic Avalon Theatre.
Petite Players

The focus of this introductory theatre program is to develop creativity and self-confidence through acting, singing, poetry, movement, storytelling, and FUN! Our Petite Players will work towards performing a show on Friday to show off what they have learned!
Spanish Dance (3 - Day Camp)
July 5 - July 7 (9:00 – 3:00)
Performance: Friday at 3pm
Entering grades 5 – 8
Tuition: $165
Do you have an interest in learning dances like the salsa, bachata, and merengue? This 3-day Spanish dance workshop will explore Hispanic culture through the lens of dance! Where did each dance originate? What makes one dance special in comparison to another? Led by a local teacher, with years of experience teaching young people dances from Spanish cultures, this camp will bring energy and enthusiasm for Latin culture that is contagious! Be ready to learn and get on the dance floor! Note: Dancers will be dancing in pairs for rehearsals and for the Friday performance as this is the nature of the dances we are studying.
“Charlotte’s Web” Visual & Performing Arts Camp

Join us as we bring our adaptation of Charlotte’s Web to life! While integrating drama and visual art, you will take part in a paper mache sculpture workshop and create your very own props and characters that will be part of our final production! Charlotte’s webs are a form of visual art and they communicate a message and meaning that are central to the plot of this EB White tale. This will just be the beginning of where visual art and theater techniques meet to bring this classic tale to life!
Plein Air Art Camp
July 17 - 21 (9:00 – 3:00)
Art Show & Sale: Friday at 3pm
Entering grades 5 – 8
Tuition: $275
Campers will be using the town of Easton as their backdrop and Plein Air Easton Events & Exhibitions as inspiration and direction. Activities include painting, visiting local art galleries, interacting with plein air artists, as well as receiving hands-on instruction and guidance from an art educator on the techniques of painting in and from your surroundings. Every day, weather permitting, campers will spend a great deal of their time painting outside in “plein air”.

Curtain Call Jr

This program focuses young actors on developing basic acting and storytelling skills, through a variety of fun daily activities and games - similar to Curtain Call, with all activities adapted for the “Junior” age group. This group will work to perform a script that has been adapted from an age-related children’s trade book for their Friday Performance!

From comedy sketches to dramatic stories, we create it all ourselves. The Curtain Call theatre program accommodates brand new beginners as well as experienced young actors. Daily activities include theatre games, storytelling, script writing, voice and movement techniques, character development, and stagecraft. Monologues, one-person dialogues, alongside creative staging will be used to build a show completely from our campers’ imagination!
