On September 16 the Avalon Foundation purchased the final part of the Theatre Building, the restaurant formerly Bannings Tavern. Reaching total site control of the Avalon Theatre building is a milestone that has been a long time coming and is especially poignant as the Theatre celebrates its 100th anniversary. Because community-building is the cornerstone of the Avalon Foundation’s mission, community input will be solicited prior to finalizing plans for the usage of this expanded space. Owning the corner opens up a wide range of possibilities for the Avalon Foundation both in the short and long term. This is a huge opportunity and the Foundation is determined to get it right. Please consider making a “mortgage lifter” gift of any amount in celebration of this momentous occasion.
